Data Architect & Governance

VIG Re is looging for a senior Data architect. This is a high‑impact role at the heart of our company‑wide data transformation. You will shape our target data architecture, build a practical governance framework, and influence how data is designed, managed, and used across the entire organisation.

What can you expect

Enterprise data architecture — Ownership of the organisation‑wide target architecture: data platform, integration patterns, modelling approaches and consumption layers. You set architectural principles, maintain the roadmap, and act as design authority for solution designs.
Data governance leadership — Build and run a governance framework that works in practice: ownership & stewardship, glossary, catalogue, lineage, data quality rules, issue management. You chair governance forums and make governance operational, not theoretical.
Architecture–governance alignment — Ensure governance requirements (quality, privacy, security, traceability) are embedded into architecture from the start and that all initiatives follow the agreed target state.
High autonomy — Act independently within agreed principles, escalating only material deviations. Balance long‑term architecture integrity with short‑term delivery needs across multiple teams and vendors.
Cross‑functional collaboration — Work closely with Data Engineering, AI/Analytics, BI, IT, Infrastructure, business data owners (Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Actuarial, Risk & Compliance) and VIG Group architecture, security and data protection.

Governance know‑how — Practical experience with DAMA‑DMBOK or equivalent, plus catalogue, glossary, lineage, data quality and access management tooling.
Communication excellence — Ability to explain architecture and governance to both technical and business audiences.
Education & experience — Degree in CS/IT/Data Science/Statistics; proven experience as data architect or governance lead in a regulated environment; insurance knowledge is an advantage; relevant certifications (DAMA CDMP, cloud architecture); fluent English.
