Our Corporate Underwriting Department is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Natural Catastrophe Risk Analyst who will develop and maintain state of the art Nat Cat modelling and pricing methodologies, conduct targeted portfolio analysis and scenario-based assessment and who will model incoming reinsurance contracts with relevant Nat Cat exposure.
Your tasks
- Drive the enhancement of VIG Re Nat Cat technical landscape (modus operandi, methods, models, guidance, parameters, accumulation and systems).
- Assess the materiality of natural perils scenarios in VIG Re´s reinsurance portfolio, perform targeted quantitative analysis and derive actionable business insights.
- Steer the validation of Nat Cat vendors’ models (comprising implications on VIG Re capital model and interplays with VIG Group and supervisory authorities).
- Perform risk assessment, modelling and technical pricing of reinsurance treaties with relevant Nat Cat exposure, in close cooperation with non-life underwriting teams.
- Provide technical guidance and educational support to underwriters, actuaries and other colleagues on Nat Cat topics.
- Monitor and assess Nat Cat events with potential impact on VIG Re.
Our expectations
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a Nat Cat modelling position.
- Excellent understanding of reinsurance, as relates to Nat Cat risk. Underwriting and technical pricing experience as an advantage.
- University degree in climatology, geology, statistics, mathematics or similar.
- Strong sense of accountability and proactive mindset.
- Contributes to a positive team spirit; is motivated to work individually and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective presentation and communication skills.
- Fluency in English. French or German an advantage.
- SQL, Python or VBA an advantage.
