VIG Re is on the lookout for a Technology & Infrastructure Manager to enhance our IT operations. In this role, you’ll build a structured knowledge base, deliver seamless 24/7 user support, lead cloud migration projects, and drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Your tasks
Technology & Infrastructure Manager leads the development and operation of the company's technology environment, focusing on infrastructure, cloud services, user support, and security. The role ensures smooth daily IT operations, oversees help desk activities, and manages Identity and Access Management and data protection processes. The manager drives innovation through structured change management and testing frameworks while maintaining system stability and operational efficiency. Building a strong, knowledgeable team and ensuring long-term sustainability of IT operations are key priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead the Technology & Infrastructure Team, building a high-performing and collaborative culture. Able to expand the team and integrate external support to ensure 24/7 coverage if required.
- Infrastructure and Cloud Services Management: Oversee IT infrastructure and cloud environments, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and reliable. Together with the CIO, drive the company’s cloud strategy and cloud migration efforts.
- User Support and Service Management: Manage help desk operations using a shift-based model to provide international user support. Develop and maintain strong service quality by managing internal SLAs.
- Standard Systems Operations: Oversee critical/core business systems, including Office 365, ensuring seamless and secure operations.
- Security and Data Protection: Implement and maintain data backup solutions and Identity and Access Management. Safeguard data in compliance with security best practices.
- Change Management and Innovation: Manage system changes and ensure effective testing of new tools and technologies. Drive innovation while minimizing business disruptions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners, especially with the Kooperativa IT department. Work closely with business units to understand operational needs and align IT services accordingly. Communicate system changes, updates, and improvements clearly to users across the company. Ensure feedback from stakeholders is integrated into IT operations and future planning.
Our expectations
- University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Proven experience managing and operating IT infrastructure and cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with IT support and service management.
- Experience leading cloud migration initiatives.
- Certification in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, or IT service management (e.g., ITIL).
- Strong understanding of data protection standards and practices.
- Expertise in cloud platform management and IT infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills.
- Skilled in IT service management and running shift-based support operations.
- Proficient in change management and driving process improvements.
- Good knowledge of security practices and data protection.
- Ability to manage system transitions with minimal disruption.
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
- Careful with details and always focused on delivering high-quality work.
- Proactive thinker who stays updated on the latest technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Excellent collaboration and networking skills, capable of building partnerships and interacting constructively with diverse teams.
- Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans.
- Adept in stakeholder management, with excellent communication skills to effectively align and motivate towards common goals.
- Fluent spoken and written English. Czech is advantage.
