Our Corporate Underwriting Department is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Analyst for our UW portfolio, who will actively support the Chief Underwriting Officer in deriving business insights on the Company’s UW book. This role involves monitoring and analysing the performance of VIG Re reinsurance portfolio, evaluating risk exposures and contributing to strategic decision-making. You will actively cooperate with several internal stakeholders (incl. Market Units, Risk Management, Planning and Controlling and Capital Management & Retrocession).
Your tasks
- Business-oriented portfolio analysis: assess VIG Re UW portfolio static and development, regarding profitability (expected and realised), composition, critical accumulating exposures and any other relevant risk- and exposure-based perspective.
- Portfolio insights: leveraging on internal and external data, identify the underlying drivers of the portfolio’s performance. Generate actionable insights, which will enable Underwriters in their risk assessment and decision making.
- Positioning of key messages: use professional and innovative means (e.g. visuals, graphs, maps etc) to consolidate the analytical takeaways; communicate recommendations with clarity to stakeholders.
- Data management and technology: implement and maintain state-of-the-art tech solutions for UW portfolio analytics. Contribute to ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.
Our expectations
- University degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent
- Fluent command of English language, an additional major European language is a plus
- Minimum 3 years of professional track record in data analytics or reporting/controlling in the insurance and/or reinsurance industry
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- High attention to details and organisational skills
- Solid communication and presentation skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint knowledge
- Contribute to a positive team spirit, motivated to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
